This bottling is made up almost entirely of Merlot, with trace additions of Bordeaux varieties. The grapes come predominately from the estate vineyard within the western edge of Walla Walla Valley, with the remaining from Weinbau Vineyard located above the Columbia River in central Washington. The vines average over 20 years old and are south facing, growing upon beds of silt and sandy loam. This Merlot was pumped over and/or punched down by hand two times per day in small stainless steel tanks. After pressing, settling, and racking the various lots were moved to French barrels for aging and maturation.
