This blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon 50% Merlot grows upon beds of limestone flakes and red clay in the Euganea Hills (Rosso del Veneto IGT). This wine is made from the best barrels of Rosso Riserva and is not used to make Gemola or Arqua. Destemmed fruit is fermented for two weeks with frequent pumping over and aged in small French oak barrels for 36 months and then bottle for another 6 months.
Aromatically this wine has notes of dark cherries, blackberry jam, and a hint of pink peppercorns. On the palate the wine has a bold tannic structure, with flavors of ripe dark fruits, fine vanilla and baking spices.
