Made up of 100% Tinta de Toro, all fruit comes from proprietary vineyards located in Valdefinjas and Toro, within the Toro DO. The head-trained vines were planted between 1951 and 2000 and grow upon predominately sandy-clay soils with a limestone subsoil. The fruit is entirely hand-harvested and is 100% destemmed. Temperature-controlled fermentation occurs with selected indigenous yeast in stainless steel. The wine sees a total maceration of 24 days. The wine is transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation, of which 30% is new French oak. It ages for 14 months before bottling.
