Roughly 500 Petit Verdot grapevines are cultivated in a single acre block adjacent to the Brothers Vineyard at 800ft elevation. Its main purpose has been to complement our Brothers Vineyard and Ranch Cabs, but for the past few years, it has been bottled as a varietal wine to great success. The wines were planted back in 1962, 1981, and 2009 and the soil of the block is volcanic Perlite and sand. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, using only naturally occurring yeast. Finally, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
