The Sauvignon Blanc utilized for the Sunninghill bottling comes from the a single acre within the eastern-most Lost Orchard area, located on a bluff along Lake Hennessey and Pritchard Hill on the far shore, at an altitude of 800 feet. The wine is whole-cluster pressed and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and used oak barrels, with no malolactic fermentation and aged on its lees.
Aromatically the wine has notes of fresh cut grass, elegant white flowers, and juicy honey-dew melon. On the palate the wine is delightfully balanced with bright acidity and a creamy, textured palate full of citrus and beeswax.
