The grapes come from the Sutter Ranch, located deep in the delta in the southernmost part of the Clarksburg AVA. The temperatures are generally lower than that of the Lodi AVA, with howling wind that brings cool marine air throughout the summer seasons. The second pick is for both Pet Nat and the barrel-fermented still wine. Once hand-picked, the fruit is then foot-treaded, pressed, naturally fermented, bottled at 2.4 Brix, disgorged the following summer.
