Acquiring a small parcel of Pinot Noir vines within Ürziger Würzgarten left the Loosen family a little confused as to what to do with them. After much thought, with the Mosel's cool climate, it made most sense to turn the grapes into sparkling wine. The grapes were hand picked and carefully hand selected before being crushed and made méthode traditionelle. The wine proceeds to age for five years on the lees before disgorgement.
Aromatically the wine delicately swirls from the glass with notes of cherry blossoms as well as just barely ripened strawberries and cream, and a hint of buttery caramel. On the palate the wine is elegant and bright, with fine bubbles and a long finish.
