The Merlot comes from proprietary vineyards planted in the Valley of Valdizarbe within the Navarra DO. The vines were planted back in 1989 on hillside soils composed of red and gray marl. Upon harvest the grapes are sorted and then crushed lightly, followed by a five-day cold maceration. The fermentation process occurs in stainless steel, and maceration lasts a total of 15 days. The wine ages for two months in stainless steel with stirring of the fines lees before bottling.
