This Riesling is composed of grapes grown upon Devonian slate and diabase within Saarburg. The grapes are entirely hand picked, and due to the cooler climate within the region, the grapes are brighter and less ripe. This bottling is the houses entry-level Riesling, found to be a touch riper than the estate bottling. The grapes ferment and age with 100% neutral Fuder barrels, all in their extremely humid, deeply underground cellar.
Aromatically this wine is delicate and floats from the glass, much like a butterfly, with notes of candied citrus and white flowers. On the palate the wine is refreshing and zippy, with lemon balm, juicy orchard fruits, and granny smith apples.
