In this week's edition of the Press Democrat, the 2016 Quivira Zinfandel from Dry Creek in Sonoma was awarded wine of the week. The world is erupting with a love for less jammy, alcohol forward red wines to pair with food. Despite some stigma's about zinfandel being notorious for its extremely ripe flavors and dizzying alcohol content - many producers within northern California are working hard to create a much more balanced representation of the grape. Peg Melnik writes his review of Quivira Dry Creek Zinfandel 2016 as follows:
