"Possessing a Chambolle-like level of nuance and complexity, with notes of rose petals, light currants and strawberries, the 2014 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict is elegant and ethereal on the palate with building, ultra-fine tannin, gorgeous purity and a great finish. Drink it anytime over the coming decade or more."

"The 2014 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is by far the most tannic and structured of Tyler Pinots. Beams of acidity and tannin give the 2014 its distinctive personality. Most of the Tyler Pinots can be enjoyed pretty much upon release, but the S&B will require at least a few years of patience. Today, the fruit is completely buried, yet there is an element of translucence here that is beguiling. This is the first vintage Willett has worked with whole clusters on S&B fruit and also the only 2014 Pinot with whole clusters, which explains much of how the wine shows in the context of the entire lineup."

De-stemmed, but retaining a portion of whole clusters, to 2-5 ton open top fermenters. Native fermentation begins after 4-5 days. Gently extracted using both punch down and pump-overs. Pressed to tank once dry, and quickly settled before going down to half new barrels. On the lees for 12-14 months, racked and blended, then back down to barrel for an other 3-4 months before bottling.

All native yeast. No fining/filtering
