"Plump and racy, but well-focused, with smoky cracked pepper and black cherry aromas leading to lush, layered flavors of raspberry, licorice and orange zest. A pleasure to drink. Drink now through 2025. 12,000 cases made."

"Turley 2014 Zinfandel Juvenile Vineyard is an assemblage of bits and pieces from different parcels, but overall from the younger vine portion of the multiple terroirs they exploit. The wine is a big, juicy, classic Zinfandel with a dark ruby/purple color, hefty power (15.5% alcohol), without a trace of heat or burn. It has loads of briary blue and red fruits, medium to full body, vibrant acidity, impressive purity and texture. This is a strong effort and one of the largest cuvées Turley produces. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."

"The 2014 Zinfandel Juvenile is gracious, intensely perfumed and light on its feet, with striking purity and terrific overall balance. Rose petal, sweet red cherry, plum, mint and cinnamon add lift in a finessed, refreshing Zinfandel that is best enjoyed young, while the flavors retain their brightness. This is a terrific introduction to the vintage at Turley. -AG"

Turley Wine Cellars

100% Zinfandel

Though the vast majority of our wines are single vineyard designates, Juvenile is actually composed of a variety of young vines that have been replanted in several of their old vine sites. They tag the vine when they replant it so as not to mix the brand new vine with its much older neighbors, then pick these young vines separately and make a distinct wine. The vines that make up Juvenile range in age from about 6-25 years, and they pull from 18 of the best vineyards across California.

The wine ferments using only natural yeasts. It ages for approximately 15 months in 80% French oak and 20% American oak (80% used, 20% new).
