"Once again, the 2013 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge shows more mid-weight expression of Howell Mountain. Iron, blood, white pepper and savory herbs open up in the glass. Today, the Rattlesnake comes across wild, powerful and unrestrained than the Dragon, yet it also retains a considerable amount of polish, which makes it remarkably complete, not to mention delicious. (93-95)" –Jan 2015
Rattlesnake Ridge is an estate-owned and certified organic vineyard. Located at the top of Howell Mountain at about 2600 feet, the vines see
more sun here then they would on the valley floor. However, it is much colder due to the elevation, and can even snow in the winter. All combined,
these factors make for a truly unique & bold wine that can only come from Howell Mountain.
Winemaking: Fermentation with only natural yeasts; 80% French oak, 20% American oak (80% used, 20% new). Aged for approximately 15 months.
