"The 2014 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard is intensely mineral and savory in style, with tons of graphite, smoke, black cherry, menthol, lavender and sage pushed forward. The aromatics alone are utterly beguiling, but the firm, insistent tannins suggest it will be at least a few years before the 2014 is ready to offer its finest drinking. -AG" –Oct 2015
"The 2014 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard is laced with compelling scents of lavender, graphite, menthol, sage and inky blue/purplish fruit. Beams of supporting tannin give the wine its spine. There is no shortage of intensity in this beguiling, hugely appealing Howell Mountain Zinfandel." –Dec-16
Dragon Vineyard is a certified organic, estate vineyard. Planted at 2400 feet at one of the highest points on Howell Mountain, the vineyard sits well above the fog line and faces east. These important features, along with the rocky, red volcanic soil, make for a very unique, full-bodied and powerful Zinfandel.
The fermentation process only uses natural yeasts. The wine ages for approximately 15 months in 80% French oak and 20% American oak (80% used, 20% new).
