Torbreck Wines, 2012 Torbreck 'Run Rig' Shiraz
97
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2012 Run Rig offers a nose of baked cherries and raspberry preserves with suggestions of violets, cinnamon toast, aniseed and vanilla. Full-bodied with characteristic elegance and poise in spite almost of its power, it has a solid backbone of very finely grained tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing with great length. 97+ Points"

2012 Torbreck 'Run Rig' Shiraz
Torbreck Wines
98.5% Shiraz; 1.5% Viognier
Each of the six parcels of fruit were gently de-stemmed into both wooden & concrete open
top fermenters where they sat on the skins for 6-7 days. After basket pressing the wine was run directly into both new (50%) and used French barriques to complete natural malolactic fermentation. The wine was then racked after six months, but left on fine lees
throughout maturation to enhance texture. After 30 months, the components were
blended. |
