James Suckling
Torbreck Wines, 2016 Torbreck 'Woodcutter's' Shiraz

"This shows the greatness of the vintage with graphite, stone, oyster shell, blackberry, and licorice. Smoke undertone. Full body yet linear and energetic with a fabulous finish. A stunning wine. Great value for the quality. Drink now. Screw cap."

Torbreck Wines

100% Shiraz

SUB-REGIONS Marananga, Greenock, Seppeltsfield, Gomersal, Moppa, Lyndoch & Kalimna.

FERMENTATION Like all wines in the Torbreck stable, the fruit is sourced from hand harvested and hand tended plots throughout the Northwestern Barossa Valley. It is fermented in cement, wooden and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days and then basket pressed to well-seasoned hogsheads and French oak foudres for 12 months. It is bottled without the use of either fining or filtration.

FUN FACT The name Woodcutter's stems from when Torbreck founder David Powell spent several years working in the Scottish Highlands as a lumberjack or woodcutter in the Torbreck forest.
