"A firm and tight red with blue fruits such as blueberries, mushrooms and bark. Even pine cones are thrown into the mix. Full-bodied, fine and very long. Linear and exciting. Conifer undertones. Unique character. Drink or hold. Better in 2019. From environmentally sustainable grapes." –Nov-16
"The 2014 Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir comes from one large 80-acre holding of which Soter purchases from six different plots from the eastern to the western flank. It includes 25% whole cluster fruit and is matured in 33% new French oak. It has my pick of aromatics from the four Single Vineyard, perfumed with wilted rose petal scents infusing the red cherries and strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshier than its peers with slightly earthy red berry fruit, and with commendable depth and balance on the finish. I appreciate the harmony and character here."
"Lurid ruby-red. Suave, spice- and mineral-laced red berry and potpourri aromas pick up a smoky nuance with air. Sweet and precise on the palate, offering vibrant raspberry and cherry flavors along with muskier rhubarb and floral pastille notes. The clinging, red-fruit-driven finish shows excellent clarity and smooth, sneaky tannins." –Dec-16
