"The 2012 Pinot Noir Mineral Springs Ranch White label comes from the upper reaches of the estate's vineyard. It includes 30% whole-cluster fruit and is aged in 50% new French oak. It has a gorgeous bouquet with beautifully integrated rose-petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a noticeable chocolate element on the entry (probably originating from the oak), harmonious and tender in the mouth with a long concentrated finish. It is still very backward, but I can imagine it drinking extremely well in 4 or 5 years time."

"Bright red. Complex, intensely perfumed bouquet of spice-tinged raspberry liqueur and floral pastilles, with a deeper cola accent and a hint of smoky minerals. Silky and seamless but energetic too, conveying a penetrating quality to its red berry and spicecake flavors. This pure, focused wine finishes very long, with smooth tannins and a resonating echo of candied flowers. A standout for its vintage. -JR"

This 100% Estate-grown and bottled Pinot Noir represents a selection from this esteemed site. Where the flagship Mineral Springs Ranch ("MSR") Pinot Noir expresses the full clonal and microclimactic diversity of the property, the Mineral Springs Pinot Noir is created in a given vintage only when the winery identifies something truly unique and focused that begs attention. Therefore, precious little of this wine is produced - a few hundred cases only - and it represents the purest expression of Pinot Noir from the Estate vineyard.

30% whole cluster fermentation; 12 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Sourced entirely from the Estate's Certified L.I.V.E. Sustainable vineyard.
