"Snowden's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is bold, delicious and juicy. Black cherry, plum, licorice and smoke all meld together effortlessly. The tannins could use another year or two to soften, but the Ranch Cabernet is going to drink well with minimal cellaring next to most wines of the vintage. -AG"

2013 Snowden Cabernet Sauvignon 'The Ranch'
Snowden Vineyards

From an incredible growing year in the Napa Valley, Snowden's 'The Ranch' 2012 is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. With the estate's Brothers Vineyard – arguably the best terroir on the property – beginning to come back into production in 2012, the vineyards previously going into their Reserve Cab became available for inclusion in The Ranch, adding to its heft, depth, and overall complexity.

WINEMAKING:
Natural, wild yeast fermentation is followed by 19 months in French Oak barrels (50% new) where the wine undergoes native malolactic fermentation. The wine is bottled unfiltered and aged for an additional 12 to 18 months before release.
