"Snowden's 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Sunninghill is gorgeous. A bit richer on the palate than is often the case, the 2014 offers plenty of yellow orchard fruit, peach and mint nuance, all nicely layered in the glass. The 2014 emphasizes textural depth and nuance, over the grassier side of Sauvignon. This is strong vintage for the Sunninghill. -AG"
The wine is whole-cluster pressed, barrel fermented in stainless steel and used oak barrels, with no malolactic fermentation and barrel-aged sur lies. “Sunninghill” is a name Virginia Snowden originally proposed for the ranch when she and Wayne arrived in 1955, although it never became official.
The 2014 Snowden Sauvignon Blanc “Sunninghill” was picked August 25th, 2014. Grown at an elevation of 800 feet, in a block high above Lake Hennessy, the wine has it all: lovely signature perfumes of Sauvignon Blanc, the 2014 vintage emphasizing lychee and citrus peel, laid down on an intense minerality and texture that are captivating.
