Stephen Tanzer SAMsARA Wine Company, 2012 SAMsARA Grenache Larner Vineyard
"Bright ruby-red. Blackberry, cherry compote and spicecake on the nose, with suave floral character and a touch of white pepper. Youthfully taut, slightly bitter cherry and dark berry flavors gain sweetness and energy with air, picking up an exotic floral pastille quality and a hint of blood orange that builds on the back half. Finishes with firm grip, dusty tannins and lingering dark berry and spicecake flavors." –Dec 2014
"Sporting a light ruby color, the 2012 Grenache Larner Vineyard is a mid-weight, elegantly styled Grenache that gives up plenty of raspberry, boysenberry, mint and a touch of floral characteristics on the nose. More Pinot Noir than Grenache, with bright acidity, it saw 100% stems and two years on lees in neutral oak. Drink this pretty, elegant and nuanced Grenache over the coming 4-5 years."
