Rufina's unique soil with clay limestone mixed with schist and the proximity of the Appenines provides longer ripening fruit with fresh acidity and wines with more finesse.
This Chianti Rufina is made with 95% Sangiovese and 5% a blend of Canaiolo, Colorina, and Malvasia Nera. Vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks with 25 days of maceration. After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in large French oak cask (15-20-25 hl) for 1O months. All estate fruit is cultivated with organic methods and vinified separately. Fermentation takes place with only indigenous yeasts.
