"Whiffs of white peach and yellow cherry intensify on the palate of this punchy, concentrated dry Riesling. It’s buoyantly juicy and fruity, full of fresh stone fruit and citrus flavors. Vibrant acidity and deep veins of crushed slate lend refreshment to a long finish. It’s an exceptionally balanced wine at a bargain price. Loosen Bros. USA. —A.I."

Robert Weil

Weingut Robert Weil's vineyards, which sit on an elevated position along the outliers of the Taunus ridge, are considered among the finest in the Rheingau. The vines range up to over 50 years in age and are planted at a density of 5,000 to 6,000 vines per hectare.

The winery puts a strong priority on a gentle transport of the berry clusters: special vibrating grape trailers and a dogged reliance on old-fashioned gravity are used in conveying the grapes to the wine presses. After gentle pressing, the must is gravity-fed into reception tanks. Natural sedimentation is then used to fine the must.

The estate’s Riesling Trocken is a medium-bodied dry Riesling that shows the classic mineral rich character and typical density and power of the Rheingau region. The wine is fermented and matured in large, neutral oak casks.
