Robert Weil, 2016 Robert Weil Riesling Tradition

"The 2016 Rheingau Riesling "Tradition" is the counterpart of the Riesling trocken, bottled with a bit more than 20 grams of residual sugar. A bit sweetish today but with a nice mineral structure and vitality, this is a superb, racy-piquant and tightly woven Riesling that can age for 20 to 40 years."

Robert Weil, 2016 Robert Weil Riesling Tradition

"Orange blossoms and crushed mineral tones perfume this delicately off-dry Riesling. Light bodied and spry, the palate is taut, with deeply penetrating high-toned acidity and crunchy peach, tangerine and lemon flavors. Finishes long on notes of lemon zest, fennel and crushed earth."

VINEYARD: It is a cuvée from parcels that neighbor the estate’s top vineyard sites in Kiedrich and Eltville. The mineral-rich soils of these vineyards consist of medium-deep stony, fragmented phyllite mixed with loess and loam.

THE STORY: The philosophy at Weingut Robert Weil is to combine modern ideas with the long tradition of viticulture in the Rheingau region. This wine is the estate’s classic rendition of the traditional off-dry style that made the Rheingau famous.
