"Even better in bottle than it was from barrel, the 2014 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard is bold, powerful and exuberant. There is no shortage of fruit intensity in the glass. A rush of red stone fruit, blood orange and pomegranate makes a strong first impression. In 2014 the Platt is gorgeous. Sadly, this is David Ramey\'s last vintage of the Platt." –Mar-17
"From the Sonoma Coast, the 2013 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard offers crisp acidity, elegant black cherry and berry fruit notes, damp earth, baking spices, and subtle background oak. Drink it over the next 5-6 years."
Located five miles from the Pacific off Bodega Highway, midway between Sebastopol and Bodega Bay, the Platt vineyard sits at 800' on a south-facing slope overlooking the Estero Americano (which funnels cooling marine weather to the
Sacramento delta via the Petaluma Gap) - one of Ramey's coolest vineyards.
It was aged sur lies with monthly bâtonnage and spent thirteen months in 30% new French barrels (François Frères) and previously used Chardonnay barrels. Lightly fined with egg whites, this Platt Vineyard Pinot was bottled unfiltered.
