Vinous Ramey Wine Cellars, 2014 Ramey Chardonnay Russian River
"The 2014 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) is rich, creamy and supple, with lovely textural richness and depth, especially at its level. Peach, apricot, dried flowers, vanillin and a touch of French oak give the wine its racy, supple personality. This is a gorgeous appellation level wine from David Ramey." –Mar-17
Wine Advocate Ramey Wine Cellars, 2014 Ramey Chardonnay Russian River
"Ramey 2014 Chardonnay Russian River has an understated nose of ripe apples and apricots with a creamy/yeasty undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate provides nice richness, with plenty of pure stone fruit and citrusy flavors supported by refreshing acidity, finishing long and creamy."
Ramey Wine Cellars, 2014 Ramey Chardonnay Russian River
This cool-climate Chardonnay is grown on low vigor soil that shows the characteristics of the region. It receives less new oak and less time in barrel than the single-vineyard wines, but otherwise, is made identically to them.
This wine spends 12 months in 25% new oak. All of Ramey's Chardonnays are whole-cluster pressed, fermented in Burgundian barrels with native yeast and aged sur lies with batonnage and full malolactic fermentation. Finally, the wine is bottled without filtration.
