Wine Advocate Rhys Vineyards, 2014 Rhys Chardonnay Bearwallow Vineyard
"Harvey's 2014 Chardonnay Bearwallow Vineyard is classy, orchard fruit, white peach and honeysuckle-scented effort that has notable richness, a balanced, layered texture and a touch of minerality and toastiness on the finish. It's ideal for drinking over the coming 4-6 years." –Oct-16

"Candied lemon, orange peel, yellow orchard fruit, smoke, butter and pineapple are some of the signatures in the 2014 Chardonnay Bearwallow Vineyard. I especially like the way the 2014 picks up freshness and aromatic lift with time in the glass. The long, silky finish only adds to the wine's considerable appeal."
Rhys Vineyards, 2014 Rhys Chardonnay Bearwallow Vineyard
Located at least 100 miles north of San Francisco, Anderson Valley is home to Bearwallow Vineyard. The valley is increasingly cool as it nears the Pacific Ocean. The soils include rocky southwest facing slopes. The Estate Vineyards itself is located in the coolest northwest corner (otherwise known as the "Deep End" of the Anderson Valley), where Rhys planted 31 acres of vines on the rocky slopes.
Bearwallow sits at 600 feet in elevation and is farmed biodynamically. As with all of Rhys' wines, winemaking is based on a hands-off, gravity-focused approach. Fermented with native yeasts. The wine is never pumped, fined, or filtered.
