Riglos, 2014 Riglos Gran Malbec

"Bright ruby-red. Crushed blackberry, blueberry and bitter chocolate aromas are lifted by violet and a faint black pepper note; distinctly dark and brooding following the Gran Cabernet Franc. Densely packed, fine-grained and dry, with an herbal, minty aspect more than countered by sweet dark berry fruit. Finishes with blackberry and licorice pastille notes, tongue-dusting tannins and a light touch. This wine's medicinal reserve and youthful tightness will require more patience than the Gran Cabernet Franc. Both of these wines display greater sweetness and less herbacity than the 2013 Gran Corte I tasted last year, and this is less leathery and rustic than the 2013 Gran Malbec."

Riglos, 2014 Riglos Gran Malbec

"A juicy and ripe wine with berry and dried-fruit character. The alcohol shows a little here. Full body and a chewy finish. A little old school but attractive."
