"A dense and intense wine with blueberry, blackberry and spice character. I like the way the fruit and light oak melts away on the palate. Enticing red. Drink or hold." –June 2015
Vinous Riglos, 2013 Riglos Gran Malbec
"Bright, full ruby. Blackberry, licorice and violet aromas and flavors are complicated by a leathery nuance and accented by black pepper. Lively acidity gives shape and lift to this nicely concentrated, balanced Malbec, with a hint of leathery rusticity contributing sex appeal to its sweet berry fruit. Finishes with firm, ripe tannins and noteworthy persistence. This has the intensity and equilibrium to evolve gracefully."
The Rigols Finca is situated in the Uco Valley in the Gualtallary district - an area widely considered the best for grape growing in Argentina. The soils are sandy loam and gravel with a west-east slope that assures excellent sun exposure and reduced frost risk.
