Wine Enthusiast Quivira Vineyards, 2013 Quivira Zinfandel Dry Creek
"Smoky and lined in restrained streaks of black pepper, this is a big-boned, robust and brawny wine, girded by a foundation of tobacco and big tannin. Drink now through 2020 with gigantic slabs of braised or barbecued meat."
Wine Spectator Quivira Vineyards, 2013 Quivira Zinfandel Dry Creek
"Bold raspberry and toasty spice aromas combines with lively, jammy flavors of black cherry, smoky anise and dried sage. Drink now through 2027. 5,904 cases made." –Jun-16
The foundation of this wine comes from three biodynamic and organically farmed estate vineyards - Wine Creek Ranch, Anderson Ranch and Goat Trek.
To add complexity, fruit from some old vines are also used. The lots are kept separate and fermented in a mix of closed and smaller open-top fermenters. The wine is aged for approximately 10 months in a mix of French, American and Hungarian oak. (5904 cs)
