Wine Advocate Peter Michael Winery, 2014 Peter Michael Chardonnay 'Ma Belle-Fille'
"The 2014 Chardonnay Ma Belle Fille has essentially the same aromatic and flavor profile as well as huge body and concentration that also characterized the 2015, with oodles of caramelized citrus and honeysuckle in its explosive aromatics and intense flavors. Both are fabulous Chardonnays like their siblings and should be drunk over the next 10-12 years. -RP" –Oct 2016

Vinous Peter Michael Winery, 2014 Peter Michael Chardonnay 'Ma Belle-Fille'
"The 2014 Chardonnay Ma Belle-Fille is one of the most exuberant wines in this range. Rich, creamy and voluptuous, Ma Belle-Fille emphasizes buttery and honey notes, along with an unctuous expression of Chardonnay." –Aug-16
At the highest elevation on the estate Ma Belle-Fille is an extension of the same slope as La Carrière, sharing its southeastern exposure and lean soils. Situated above the ceiling of the summer morning fog, it receives more sun than lower vineyards. This causes the fruit to mature earlier than the rest of the estate.
Fruit is fermented using native yeasts in 100% French oak from artisan coopers and is barrel-aged sur lies for 11 months with weekly bâtonnage.
The name translates to “My Daughter In-Law” in honor of Emily Michael, Paul Michael’s wife and the mother of the youngest generation.
