2013 Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Poliziano
85% Prugnolo Gentile
15% Blend of Colorina, Canaiolo and Merlot
The 42 ha of vines lay in soils of soft clay. Hand-harvested grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Fermentation and maceration take place between 18 to 22 days, and the wine spends 14 to 16 months in wood. Two-thirds are refined in "barriques" and "tonneaux" of French Oak (80% second-use and 20% new) and one-third in traditional casks.
