"The 2013 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate displays clean quince, white currant, honeysuckle and pineapple notes, a touch of hazelnut, and a full-bodied, rich, concentrated, multi-layered mouthfeel. This is another brilliant Chardonnay to drink over the next 4-6 years. "

"The full-bodied 2013 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate exhibits more honeyed melon, mango and cooler tropical fruits than the Ellen Lane or Edward James. (94-96)"

"The 2013 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate is another of the deeper, richer wines in the range. Still not fully formed, the Ross Station needs to be opened in advance or aged in bottle to allow a slight hint of reduction to more fully integrate. Orange blossom, honey, almond and spice notes meld into the powerful, resonant finish."

These vines grow under the expert watch of the Ross Family, whose estate was built in the late 1850’s. Originally planted to grape vines and peach trees, the property’s gently rolling hills, southern exposure, and sandy-loam Goldridge soil provide a nurturing environment for the vines.

The grapes were hand-harvested at night, whole cluster pressed, and barrel-fermented with indigenous yeasts. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation was completed. The wine aged 12 months in French oak (64% new) on the lees. Finally it was bottled unfined & unfiltered.
