International Wine Report Andrea Oberto, 2011 Oberto Barolo DOCG
"The 2011 Oberto Barolo comes from 3.2 hectares in four plots in la Morra and Barolo. This gorgeous Barolo instantly opens with wonderful fresh aromas of ripe dark cherries and strawberries woven together with floral, mineral, licorice and a subtle hint of tar. It possesses a lovely polished texture with outstanding balance and structure, with a gorgeous silky texture. Everything comes together beautifully on the fresh, juicy finish. (Best 2015-2026)"
100% Nebbiolo comes from 4 plots (3.2 ha) in La Morra and Barolo with soils of sand and calcareous. Hand-harvested grapes
are destemmed and undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel with frequent pumpovers. After a long
maceration on the skins for up to 300 hours, the wine is racked into barrels for the natural malolactic fermentation. The
wine then ages in cask for 24 months, stainless steel for 2 months and bottle for 6 months. (1600 cases)
