LAVINEA, 2015 LAVINEA Chardonnay Elton

"Limpid yellow-gold. Fresh honeydew, Meyer lemon, pear nectar and toasted brioche on the deeply perfumed, mineral-accented nose. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering densely packed yet lively orchard and citrus fruit and sweet butter flavors and a nervy suggestion of gingery spices. Shows impressive energy and mineral cut on the clinging finish, which features a suave floral quality and a touch of oyster shell. The blend of power and finesse here is quite something."

LAVINEA, 2015 LAVINEA Chardonnay Elton

"This full-flavored wine bursting with ripe apple, peach, melon and papaya flavors was fermented with native yeast in barrel, 20% new. A luscious seam of butterscotch runs through the palate, and plenty of natural acidity keeps the flavors fresh and lively."

In 2007 Elton Vineyards was named one of Oregon’s top ten vineyards by Wine Press Northwest, and in 2006 Wine & Spirits listed it as one of the five key vineyards in the new Eola-Amity Hills American Viticultural Area. The vineyard now includes sixty acres planted on east-southeast slopes of the Eola Hills, just west of Hopewell, in Yamhill County, in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. The elevation rises from 250-500 feet, and the vineyard soil is primarily Jory and Nekkia.
