Vinous Liquid Farm, 2014 Liquid Farm Chardonnay Golden Slope
"The 2014 Chardonnay Golden Slope is one of the richer, creamier wines in the range. Orange blossom, crème brulee, apricot jam and buttery notes are fused together. The Golden Slope will appeal most to readers who like more overt, flamboyant Chardonnays. Today, it is absolutely striking." –Sep-16
Wine Advocate Liquid Farm, 2014 Liquid Farm Chardonnay Golden Slope
"More fresh and lively, with a tad more precision and cut than the Chardonnay Four, the 2014 Chardonnay Golden Slope offers classy notes of citrus blossom, white flowers, salt block and hints of minerality. Medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant and balanced, it spent 15 months in 15% new French oak before bottling. It, too, should cruise for at least 5-6 years."
Wine Enthusiast Liquid Farm, 2014 Liquid Farm Chardonnay Golden Slope
"Light Marcona almonds, lemon curd on toast and Gravenstein apples converge for a delicate yet warmer style of Chard on this easy-to-quaff combo of seven top vineyards, including Bentrock, Rita's Crown, Clos Peper, Kessler-Haak, La Rinconada, Zotovich, and Hilliard Bruce. Buttered brioche, a drizzle of lemon oil and a touch of crushed walnuts and almonds arise on the palate." –Dec-16
Reminiscent of Meursault and the other voluptuous wines from the Cote d' Or ("Slope of Gold"), this wine is made with a small amount of new barrel to add warm tones and texture. Nonetheless, the wine maintains incredible restraint and an intense structure. The wine aged 14 months in 82% neutral oak and 15% new oak. As with all of Liquid Farm's wines, it is made with native yeast fermentation and minimal intervention.
