2015 Petit Bourgeois Rosé de Pinot Noir
Henri Bourgeois

100% Pinot Noir

Fruit comes from the Loire Valley slopes formerly known as “The Garden of France” due to its temperate climate and ideal growing conditions. The king of France once occupied this fertile region with his castles and gardens. The 10- to 40-year-old vines grow in chalky-clay and siliceous soils and are farmed using only organic fertilizers and harvested when the grapes have reached full maturity.

Upon arrival at the winery, fruit is gravity-fed and meticulously handled throughout the entire winemaking process. After a three-day skin maceration in vats, the grapes are pressed and undergo a long, cool fermentation to bring out the wine’s intense aromas.

2015 Vintage
The mild winter experienced temperatures above seasonal average. It was more wet than frosty, which allowed the soils to store enough water in preparation for the warm, dry spring and summer that followed. Veraison started the first week of August. The weather did not peak too high, and the two rainfalls that month restored the acceptable water levels in the soils. Vegetative development started again just as the berries began to ripen.
