"Inviting aromas of blackberry preserve on rye toast, cigar box, split pine, dill and black olive show on this single vineyard expression by Billy Wathen. Lifted by a slowly simmering acidity, the palate is earthy and forest-driven, with mushroom, juniper, pine needle, strawberry and dried mint flavors." –August 2016
"Leading off the Bordeaux blends, which are released under the Foxen 7200 label, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Vogelzang Vineyard comes from the eastern side of Santa Barbara County, in the Happy Canyon region. Giving up classic Cabernet notes of cassis, currants, tobacco leaf and lead pencil, this fabulous wine is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and elegant. ItâÄôs beautiful today, yet has the tannin, purity and concentration to evolve for 10-15 years."
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Vogelzang Vineyard is bold, pungent and deeply expressive. Black cherry, herb, smoke, licorice, game and dark spices are front and center. Drink this fleshy, voluptuous Happy Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon over the next few years. Readers will find a super classic expression of Happy Canyon in the Vogelzang." –Sep-16
