Wine Advocate La Follette, 2014 La Follette Pinot Noir North Coast
"Pale ruby with a hint of purple, the 2014 Pinot Noir Sangiacomo Vineyard has a pretty perfume of violets and lavender over a core of red currants, black raspberries and garrigue. The medium to full-bodied palate gives a great intensity of perfumed red berry flavors with a silky, seamless backbone and herbal lift to the finish." –Mar-17
Vinous La Follette, 2014 La Follette Pinot Noir North Coast
"The 2014 Pinot Noir (North Coast) is bright, precise and beautifully delineated throughout. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, mint and crushed rocks are some of the many notes that open up in this super-attractive, mid-weight Pinot from Greg LaFollette."
Wine Enthusiast La Follette, 2014 La Follette Pinot Noir North Coast
"This attractive, well-balanced and deeply concentrated wine is also affordable. It wraps fine-grained tannins around a fruity core, making this medium-bodied wine full in flavor." –Dec-16
2014, a warm, dry growing season hastened the onset of harvest; picking for this wine began in the third week of August. At the heart of the blend is Pinot Noir grown in the Petaluma Gap located in the Sonoma Coast AVA, where cooling wind and fog from the Pacific is drawn inland. Grapes from two family-owned, organically-farmed
vineyards in Mendocino County round out the wine with the depth of flavor and aromatic complexity that old vines can yield.
