2013 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese
Wine Advocate Fritz Haag, 2013 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese
"Rich, ripe and intense but also refreshingly stony on the nose the 2013 Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese offers a complex and noble bouquet which leads to a sweet, highly elegant, very mineral, fresh and piquant texture followed by a pure and extremely salty finish. Bottled with 7.5% alcohol plus 100 grams of residual sugar it has even more finesse and expression than the Juffer Auslese" –Feb 2015
Vinous Fritz Haag, 2013 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese
"Pale golden yellow. Enticing aromas of raspberry, mint and sassafras are complemented by a sensation of honey. Ripe and full yet discreet, this Auslese is simultaneously dense and light on the palate. With its long, complex finish, it's certainly denser than the Spätlese from the same site but some may prefer that wine's delicate balance."

2013 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Fritz Haag
The steep Grosse Lage (grand cru) Brauneberg has been revered as a top vineyard site since the Romans first cultivated wine grapes in the Mosel valley in the second century AD. The Juffer Sonnenuhr is the choicest center cut of the Brauneberg — the steepest and most south-facing part of the hillside that surrounds the sundial.
Auslese is a special selection of late-picked, very ripe clusters with about 50% botrytis-affected grapes.
