"Elegant and silky on the nose, this bottling shows aromas of pressed violet, rose bud, grape candy, cherry blossom and lilac. There is a lot of cinnamon and star anise spice on the palate as well as a strong touch of licorice thatâÄôs laid across deep olallieberry fruit lavender florality." –Jul-16
Fiddlestix Vineyard is located in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills on Santa Rosa Road. In this unique east-west running valley, fog hovers over the vines until mid-morning and then coastal breezes take over the direct cooling influence. The soil is well-drained clay loam and imparts coveted spice, volume and concentration in Fiddlestix wines. Fiddlehead meticulously farms with sustainability as the guiding force.
About 35% new oak (specifically the more tight-grain, 3-year air dried selections) weave into the wine slowly, imparting longevity and finesse. Fiddlehead's commitment to 15 months in the barrel and several years of bottle age prior to release requires much patience, but is rewarded with every sip.
