"(vinified with 50% whole clusters and 50% whole berries; aged in neutral puncheons for 22 months): Moderately saturated bright medium red. A touch of medicinal reserve gives this a more serious nose than the GSM bottling, with scents of raspberry, licorice, spices and botanical herbs. Plush, rich and deep, with the thick red fruit, herb and spice flavors in need of time in bottle to lose some baby fat and reveal more shape. But this is a very concentrated, dense wine with a southern Rhône liqueur-like quality. Finishes with plush but firm tannins and excellent length. A bitter suggestion of blood orange gives me confidence for the future of this wine."

Disruption Wine

VINEYARD: Upland Vineyard is a rolling extremely sloped site located in the Snipes Mountain AVA. The "peak" is 1,290 feet high, rising from the floor of the Yakima Valley with unique, rocky soils, known as aridisols.

FERMENTATION: 100% Mourvedre fermented with 67% whole cluster/33% whole berry.

AGING: 22 months in 500L puncheon and 228L barrique, 10% new.

FUN FACT: Snipes Mountain was named for Ben Snipes, an early Yakima County pioneer who built a house at the base of a mountain in the 1850s.
