Disruption Wine, 2013 Latta GSM 'Latta Latta'

"(vinified with 60% stems; aged for 22 months in neutral oak): Moderately saturated medium red. Inviting, slightly wild scents of strawberry and raspberry liqueur, licorice, menthol, milk chocolate and spices gained in clarity with air. Plush, soft and nicely concentrated, showing compelling sweetness but also good shape and definition to its very ripe red fruit and spice flavors. Quite pliant and easy to drink but firm on the back end, with the brambly berry flavors blowing past the wine's ripe, even tannins."

Disruption Wine

The very first blend that Latta Wines has offered is composed of 58% Grenache, 23% Syrah and 19% Mourvedre in homage to the great Rhone wines that have inspired them. This garnet wine has the mineral, savory and bright cherry aromatics of Grenache, the deep meaty bramble of Syrah and the earthy wildness of Mourvedre.

Approximately 2.9 tons/acre sourced from two very special sites in Washington, Upland Vineyard and Freewater Rocks Vineyard. A lengthy maceration with 60% stems and 40% whole berries were fermented on native yeast and punched down by hand for 31 days before pressing. This blend is aged in neutral 500L and 228L barrels for 22 months before bottling.
