"Vivid red. Ripe red fruits, potpourri and a hint of blood orange on the assertively perfumed nose, lifted by a vibrant mineral quality. Silky and precise on the palate, offering alluringly sweet, spice-tinged cherry and raspberry liqueur flavors and a hint of five-spice powder. Becomes richer with air, with no loss of vibrancy, and finishes with powerful, spicy thrust, fine-grained tannins and an exotic floral pastille note that lingers with serious tenacity."

"Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2015 Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard is scented of kirsch, mulberries and raspberry tart with underlying Chinese five spice, hoisin and mossy bark hints. Medium-bodied, there's a very seductive mid-palate of red berry and exotic spice flavors, supported by velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with spicy layers."

"Aromas of plums, raspberries and orange skin to this pinot noir. Light to medium body, firm tannins and a pretty finish. Drink now or hold."

VINEYARD: Jessie Sommers, Jessie Vineyard is the steepest on the Cristom property (240-545 feet). It is also the vineyard with the greatest elevation change and most diverse soils - mainly volcanic-basalt based. Planted entirely in a west-east row orientation, all of the vines are farmed Sustainably.

Named after Paul Gerrie’s paternal grandmother, the views from the top of the east-facing Jessie Vineyard are some of Cristom’s most spectacular. On a clear day, the Cascade Mountains (including Mts. Jefferson, Hood, and Adams) sparkle.

WINEMAKING: Hand harvested and hand sorted fruit, 49% whole clusters. Minimum effective additions of sulfur and tartaric acid, Native yeast fermentations, 1-3 punch-downs daily in 1-5 ton open-top fermenters. Gently pressed in a pneumatic bladder press, moved to barrel by gravity and never racked, unless necessary. Undergoes a full malolactic fermentation in barrel. Fined with egg whites, unfiltered.
