Cristom Vineyards, 2015 Cristom 'Mt. Jefferson Cuvée' Pinot Noir

"The nose is fresh and shows great depth with raspberry crumble, dried wild strawberries, orange peel and milk chocolate shavings. Medium- to full-bodied with lots of spicy, crunchy red fruit, tangy acidity, firm tannins and a long finish. So good now but better in 2019."

"Bright red. Fresh red berry and candied rose scents show impressive clarity and energy. Sweet and vibrant in style, offering lively, mineral-tinged raspberry and spicecake flavors and seamless texture. Closes with very good focus and alluring spiciness; fine-grained tannins add shape and subtle grip."

Cristom Vineyards, 2015 Cristom 'Mt. Jefferson Cuvée' Pinot Noir

"Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Mt Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir has vibrant red cherry and black raspberry notes with suggestions of baking spices, fertile soil and violets. Medium-bodied with a good core of rich, ripe red berry flavors and a solid backbone of grainy tannins, it finishes with a refreshing lift."

The Mt. Jefferson Cuvée is the first of six Pinot Noirs to be released each year and has been produced at Cristom since 1994. It is named for Mt. Jefferson (10,501 ft) in the Cascade Range, which sits due east of Cristom. Made with a blend of grapes from each of the estate vineyards, the Mt. Jefferson Cuvée conveys a rich diversity of place.
