Vines grow in clay soils on a hilly vineyard site located at about 200 meters above sea-level in an Indicazione Geografica Tipica designated area.

Grapes are hand-harvested, de-stemmed, gently crushed and soft-pressed. Ambient yeasts begin the fermentation process, which sits on the skins for 8-10 days. Malolactic fermentation naturally occurs in fall or in the spring following harvest. Aging mostly in steel tanks and some in half-new barriques for about 6 months. The wine is bottled with a very light clarification and filtration.
