Wine & Spirits Badia a Coltibuono, 2010 Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico 'Cultus Boni'
"The Stucchi-Prinetti family acquired Badia a Coltibuono in 1846, and siblings Emanuela, Roberto and Paolo run the 116-acre estate today. In 2002, the family decided to collect a number of unusual heirloom varieties growing around the estate and created Cultus Boni (the old Latin name for the property). The 2010 vintage is 80 percent sangiovese with the remainder coming from ciliegiolo, mammolo, fogliatonda, sanforte and pugnitello, among others. It comes together in pure red berry flavors that mingle with earthy tobacco leaf and mineral tones, lingering harmoniously in the end. Versatile and satisfying, it will partner well with roasted poultry or light pasta dishes." –April 2015

"Made with 80% Sangiovese and 20% Colorino, Ciliegiolo and other native grapes, this vibrant red offers ripe black cherry, licorice, clove, black pepper, espresso, Mediterranean herb and a balsamic note. It’s still young but well balanced with youthfully assertive tannins and fresh acidity."
