Bergstrom Winery, 2014 Bergstrom Pinot Noir Silice

"This re-named vineyard was formerly bottled as deLancellotti. You’ll find striking minerality underscoring chunky black fruits. Accents of citrus and graphite comingle, with exceptional midpalate concentration. This is a wine to cellar, though it is already quite enjoyable. Drink now through 2030. Cellar Selection. —P.G"

Bergstrom Winery, 2014 Bergstrom Pinot Noir Silice

"A beautiful purity of fruit to this wine with plum and berry aromas and flavors. Full body, polished velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Lovely tannins. Better in 2019."
Bergstrom Winery, 2014 Bergstrom Pinot Noir Silice

"Brilliant red. Fragrant, spice-accented red berries, blood orange and candied rose on the incisive nose. Bright, nervy and focused on the palate, offering intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that spread out and become sweeter with air. Juicy and seamless in texture, finishing with powerful mineral thrust and resonating floral and red berry notes. Shows surprising vivacity for the year - I'd have guessed that this was a 2013."

Bergstrom Winery

Silice (pronounced “sea-lease”) is French for silica, which is a shiny, quartz rock found in the sandy, beach soils of the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Sitting in the 21 acres of vineyard land contiguous to the winery, these bright, reflective oceanic soils produce Bergström’s most concentrated, spicy and fruit-forward Pinot Noir. The vines are now over 15-years-old and express themselves in a tremendous way.
