"Dark stony minerals and toasty biscuity notes with plenty of licorice, star anise, graphite and dark plum-soaked herbs. Full of interest. The palate has a neatly articulated frame of ripe and sturdy tannins, cradling a slightly tarry, ripe, dark plum-flavored palate. This has a saline, succulent resolve. Great wine. Best from 2020."

"Brilliant violet. Perfumed dark berry, violet and olive aromas are complemented by licorice and smoky mineral flourishes. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering pliant black raspberry and cherry flavors and a suave violet nuance. Silky tannins build steadily on a very long, penetrating finish that strongly echoes the floral and mineral notes."

2015 Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage Rouge

Fruit goes into lined concrete vats whole-cluster for a 2- to 5-day pre-fermentation maceration followed by a 15- to 21-day fermentation. Pumpovers are employed to carefully integrate oxygen into the wine. Wines are aged for one year (in 1- to 3-year-old barrels purchased from top estates in Burgundy and partial in concrete vats).
