"ThereâÄôs a definite family likeness here compared with the Select Pinot Noir but the fruit smells a little deeper and richer. Some fine red-cherry aroma, that sweet baking spice again and the merest hint of something floral, maybe wild strawberries. If thereâÄôs some whole bunch in here, it is not very obvious, just a slight savoury quality rather than anything particularly stemmy. On the palate, thereâÄôs an intensity of red-fruit flavour without excess weight or ripeness. Excellent freshness on the persistent, elegant finish. Subtle, refined but not lacking in flavour or depth. The tannins are already supple so that you could drink this now but thereâÄôs no rush. On the second day, this had become even more silky and cool. (JH)"

WINE
2013 Brick House Pinot Noir Cuvee du Tonnelier
Brick House Vineyards

A wine whose name means "Cooper’s Cuvee”, it honors the winemaker’s father whose French family long ago took the name Tonnelier (now Tunnell) or "cooper", after the craft by which they earned their livelihood.

The Pinot Noir Cuvee du Tonnelier is entirely Pommard clone from 25 year old vines. The wine is made with approximately 10% whole-cluster fruit and is matured in 35% new oak.
